Where Two Worlds Collide

Two Worlds, One Hostel

In fact, two worlds are united in our hostel: The Cuban & the German world! The Cuban part of the family runs our hostel, while the German part visits as often as possible!

But a bit more about us: We are Barbara, a red head Munich girl, which loves to travel and saw already the 5 continents and has way more energy than Raidel, a black curly hair Cuban, which really misses the sun in Germany, enjoys being on a boat, ron and a Cuban tabaco, but also found his new favorite 5th season - the Oktoberfest!

Where It All Began

The First Steps of Our Journey

Our story begins right here, in Trinidad, on the 6th of January 2020! It was totally destiny that we found each other in «La Cueva» (club in a natural cave called Disco Ayala)!

But really in love, we fell the next day, sitting at the beautiful atmosphere at the “Escaleras” (the steps in front of Plaza Mayor) drinking and talking about life! It’s the place to be in Trinidad for meeting other people, using Wifi, grabbing drinks, listening to music or watching people! Everything is happening around that place.

From Exploration to Inspiration

How Trinidad Shaped Our Journey

In total, we spent five lovely months together, living in and enjoying Trinidad – thought, half of the time dealing with Corona!

We explored waterfalls by horse or on foot (Hoyo del Pilón, Javira, Parque Natural El Cubano), visited beaches like La Boca, Ancón, Cabagán, El Grill, and Yaguanabo, enjoyed amazing food and drinks at restaurants, bars, or on the streets, visited museums, joined city tours, spent perfect days in nature at Topes de Collantes, and toured the old valley of the sugar mills (Valle de los Ingenios – UNESCO), among many other beautiful experiences.

Returning to Where It All Began

Since May 2021 we are married, living in Munich, but coming as often as possible with other family members from Germany, enjoying family time together, exploring more and more of Trinidad!

So, that’s why the idea of having a hostel was born (in our own interest :P)! The idea had to grow a bit, but after a lot of house viewings, talks and crazy paperwork we finally were able to buy the perfect hostel for us! And afterwards had to bring so many suit cases to Cuba to get the hostal ready for our guests!

From Quiet Evenings to Fun Gatherings

Our Dos Mundos is located in the heart of Trinidad & all the sights, bars, restaurants as well as souvenir shops are within a few minutes’ walk - please ask us for our recomandations, we have a lot of favorites 😉 !

So, it’s absolutely perfect located, still in UNESCO area, but luckily able to reach by car or its just a quick walk from the bus station! It’s so close to all the places to be, but the neighborhood is calmly to get enough sleep for the next day – except you are the ones, who are making a little barbecue party on the terrace. 😉

But now a bit about our Cuban team:

DIANELIS, which is living most of her life time in Trinidad, knowing almost everyone in Town, is the perfect person, to make every dream coming true, helping with ever concern, advice or recommendation!

DARIEL, which is more often called “Kiko” id is the “maestro” of the hostel and can help you planning excursions, giving good recommendations about restaurants, bars, good places to be as well as he is responsible for your stay, so ask him whatever is needed!

ILIANET, which is our cooking fairy and helping with everything she can, always accompanied by Susy, a little “Pequinés Dog”. She and Kiko are married since December 2020 and she grew up in the same neighbourhood as the hostal is located!
